Our sunny, warmer than average weather pattern will continue today and through most of the week. Today will be sunny with high temps ranging from the mid 80s in Sioux Falls to the low 90s along and west of the James River. There is a slight chance of an isolated shower or thundershower across central and western South Dakota this evening.
The forecast is about the same for tomorrow, Thursday and Friday give or take a couple degrees. Plenty of sunshine with high temps in the 80s. By Friday, a front will slide across the region bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday. That front will also bring cooler temps for the weekend. Highs will only reach the low to mid 70s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Don’t worry, that’s not the end of the summer heat. Our longer-range models bring the 80s back by the middle of next week. That’s still more than a week away, so stay tuned for updates.
